He is survived by: his children, Dolores Carter of Newark, NJ, Shawana Marshall of Inwood, WV, Valecia Goodnow of Baldwinsville, NY, Wanda Carter of Newark, NJ, Valarie Johnson of Newark, NJ, William Carter of Atlanta, GA and Charles Marshall of Danbury, CT; and his sister Geraldine Brown. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
