He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Courtney and Bessie V. Laing Courtney; his brother Randy Courtney; and his siblings-in-law, Scott Gilroy, Daniel Myers, Sr. and Metha Gearhart.
He is survived by: his wife Tina Gilroy Courtney; his children, Gabriel "Gage" Courtney, Laura Courtney, Jamie Courtney, Samantha Gilroy and Christina Leonard (James "Jimmy" Easterday); his grandchildren, Jason, Jem, Jewel, Josie, Avery and Bohdi; his sister Linda Courtney; his mother-in-law Geraldine "Geri" Gilroy; his aunt Jeannette Harrison; his uncle Donald "Wink" Laing; and his close friend Curtis Welch.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the South Berkeley Chapel (287 Arden Nollville Rd, Inwood, WV 25428).
