He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest S. Abshire and Lyda May Abshire (Slonaker); and his siblings, Donald Abshire, Richard Abshire (Dick) and Thelma Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Lee Abshire (Coe); his children, Kevin Abshire (Michele), Stephen Brian Abshire and Constance Lynn Parkinson (Steve) of Inwood; and his grandchildren, Douglas, Tara, Brandon, Andrew Abshire, Dustan and Derek Huff. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gerrardstown United Methodist Church, 110 Dominion Road, Gerrardstown, WV, 25420.
