She was predeceased by: her parents, Ishmond Graves and Jennie Flippen Graves; her husband James E. Shavers; her siblings, John "Pemp" Graves and Frances Graves Reed; and her grandson Thomas "Tommy" Shavers.

She is survived by: her friends, Thelma Ferguson and Mary Graves; her daughter Sherone Shavers-Richie (Jerry) of Knoxville; her niece Audrey Coleman; and her nephew Donald Graves.
