He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Hattie Mae Dawson of Sandy Huff; his wife Geneva Dawson; and his siblings, Woodrow, Ernest, Wilburn, Roy, Eugene and Lorraine.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lucille Hummel (Kenneth), Elsie Dupuis, Carl Dawson and Clinton Dawson; his sons, Richard Vance (Sandy) and Bruce Vance (Delores); his grandchildren, Richie Vance (Kayla), Katrina Vance, Baylei Vance and Avereigh Vance; his great grandchildren, Adrian Foley and Bentlee Vance; and his close friend Ruby. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
