He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Adkins and Sadie Bogges Adkins; his sons, Bobby Lee Adkins and Jessie Reuben Adkins; and his sisters, Norma Jean Carter, Leola Shull and Barbara Boggus.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Hoover; his daughters, Nancy Swecker (Kenny) of Elkins, Shaina Vandevender (Jimmy) of Valley Head and Libby Osburn (Matt) of Huttonsville; and his brothers, Russell Lee Adkins of Florida, Owen Adkins (Kim) of Quinwood and Garland Adkins of Rupert. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
