He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Carey and Arbutus "Boots" Staats Carey Higginbotham; and his brother Daniel "Nub" Carey. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Ann Zeniecki Carey; his children, Justin Patrick Carey (Amber) and Brittany Elizabeth Ingraham (Ian); his grandchildren, Jax, Jade, Mason, Brooks, Nash and Baker; and his siblings, Libby Dempsey, James Carey (Peggy) and Rex Carey (Roberta). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
