She was predeceased by: her parents, James E. Carey Sr. and Arbutus "Boots" Carey (Staats); her brothers, Dan and Pat Carey; and her former husband Earl Dempsey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Butcher of Hurricane, WV. and Lori McCracken (Scott) of Hurricane, WV.; her grandchildren, Heather Hunt, Jonathan Butcher, Julius McCracken, Tanner Butcher (Alex) and Quinn McCracken (Kaytlin); her great grandchildren, Madison Hunt, Larissa Huffman, Mason Ford, Killian McCracken, Khoen McCracken and Titan Butcher; her brothers, James Carey Jr. (Peggy) and Rex Carey (Bobbie); and her sister-in-law Sharon Carey.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (2837 Main St, Hurricane, WV 25526). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
