He was predeceased by: his wife Carole; and his parents, Clarence Carden and Dollie Carden. He is survived by: his children, Rozanna Bailey (Jim) of Scott Depot, Joretta Comer (Scott Depot), Donald Gatewood (Becky) of Charleston and Carol Gatewood (Scott) of Pittsburgh; his stepdaughter Kyra Adams (John) of Arizona; his grandchildren, April Jackson (Jamie), Kristi Richardson (Seth), Matthew Gatewood (Jen), Mark Gatewood (Amber), Eric Bailey (Tiffany), Travis Stone (Brittny), John Gatewood, Joshua Stephan, Eleri and Grayson Adams; and his great grandchildren, Raygen Jackson, Palmer, Paisley Bailey, Noah, Zeb, Jeremiah Dillon, Colson, McKenna Stone, George, Mary Gatewood and Harley "Dutch" Gatewood.
