We bid farewell to Clyde William Ellis of Hurricane, West Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 4, 2025 at the age of 71. Clyde William touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosalie Garner Ellis and Homer Garrett Ellis; and his sister Judith Arlene Ellis Scarberry. He is survived by: his wife Connie Handy Ellis of Hurricane, WV; his children, William Ellis (Carolina) of Encino, CA and Suzanne Ellis Woods of Hurricane, WV; his grandchildren, Nicholas Wayne Woods of Hurricane, WV, Emily Nicole Woods of Hurricane, WV and Jackson Grey Ellis of Encino, CA; his brothers, Charles Ellis of Decaturville, TN, Dave and Doug Ellis of St. Albans, WV; and his siblings-in-law, Frances and Danny Knight of Hurricane, WV. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Clyde's name to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
