It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chester Franklin Mynes (Hurricane, West Virginia), who passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Franklin Mynes Sr. and Mildred Louise Mynes; his siblings, Bayliss Mynes and Janice Fields Mynes; his daughter Diana Mynes Allen; and his grandson Billiejoe "BJ" Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Mynes; his children, Karen Mynes Allen (Arizona), Rebecca Robbins, Dr. Tim Mynes, Dr. Stephanie Marazon and Tammy Nelson (West Virginia); and his sister Donna Mynes Varian. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church (2848 Putnam Ave, Hurricane, WV 25526). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Burdette United Methodist Church.
