He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence M. Sanders and Sylvia Mae Chapman Sanders; and his grandchildren, Nicolas "Nic" Ryan Chapman and Shawn Michael Chapman. He is survived by: his wife Julia A. Sanders; his daughters, Terri Anne Higginbotham (W. J. Jeff Jr.) of Glenwood and Sherri Stein (Scott) of Monroe, N. C.; his grandchildren, Tray Michael, Eric Jefferson Higginbotham (Jennifer), Alicia Swann (Mike), Amy Arias (Saloman) and Michael Stein (Jessica); and his great grandchildren, Emma Brooks, Avery Lynn and William Jefferson Higginbotham.
