She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Pettrey and Muriel Mann Pettrey; her husband John E. Brooks Jr.; and her sisters, Shirley Johnston and Bonnie Harman.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Copeland (Kyle) of Pearisburg, VA and Jason Brooks (Laura) of Huntington; and her siblings, Donna Hamm of Athens and Eddie Pettrey (Penny) of Princeton. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made in honor of Sharon to Fellowship Christian Church in Princeton or to Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church in Barboursville, WV.
