He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Akers; his children, Heather, Meagan, Amy, Carrie, Brandon and Brian; his grandchildren, Lexi and Peyton; his siblings, Teresa Romans and James Akers; and his close friend Jim. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
