He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Smith and Mary Smith. He is survived by: his son Sean Smith Smith (Jennifer) of Mesa, AZ; and his grandchildren, Samuel Smith of Mesa, AZ and Jessi Smith of Mesa, AZ.
He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Army, Executive Director of the Marshall University Big Green Foundation and Episcopalian by faith.
