We are sad to announce that on March 30, 2025, at the age of 89, James Harry Fankhanel of Huntington, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fankhanel and Ella Fankhanel (Swenson); and his wives, Arlowyn Fankhanel (Thornton), Gertrude "Trudy" Fankhanel (Ryan Lowery) and Carolyn Breisler.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Fankhanel of Loveland, CO, Tammy Presley (Carroll) of Kenna, WV, Carine Williams (Bob) of Proctorville, OH, Christina Fankhanel of Huntington, WV, James Jr. "Jim" Fankhanel (Karrie) of Winfield, WV and Collette Slone (Jimmy) of Perry, FL.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Christ the King Lutheran Church (5700 US-60, Huntington, WV 25705). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mays Cemetery (19 Wade Rd, Yawkey, WV 25573).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
