He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Pierce and Kathleen Patterson Pierce; his children, Yvonne Turpin and Matthew Thacker; and his siblings, Mary Allen, Judy Hitchcock, Larry Pierce and Paul Pierce.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Lester and Hope Lively; and his brother Bill Pierce. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
