He is survived by: his fiancée Sheila Stapleton; his children, Mary Thacker Hysell (Keith) of Huntington and Jesse Thacker (Lauren) of Little Rock; his granddaughters, Rebecca Hysell (George) of Logan, WV and Bethany Albright (Austin) of Huntington; his great grandchildren, Wyatt of Huntington, Addalynn Albright of Huntington, Eloise of Huntington and Henry Hysell of Huntington; and his siblings, Julius of Wayne County, Peggy of Wayne County, Sharon of California and Debra of Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephew.
