He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsey Ivan and Opal Irene Kinder Wheaton; his brothers, Larry and Garry Wheaton; and his son Joshua Dale Wheaton.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Fraley Wheaton; his daughter Jennifer Jo Wheaton Stevens; his daughter-in-law Jessica Wheaton; his grandsons, Joshua Jarred "Jabo" Wheaton (Taylor Alfrey), Dorsey Ivan Wheaton, II (Angela France), Marshall Gibson Wheaton and Taylor Glenn-Mickel Stevens (Harley); his stepdaughter Amy Owen; his stepgrandson Jonah Meek; and his nephew Gabriel Wheaton.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Reger Funeral Home (1242 Adams Ave, Huntington, WV 25704). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Reger Funeral Chapel (1242 Adams Ave, Huntington, WV 25704).
