He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Gay Carter and Clarence Arthur Carter Sr.; and his brother Edward Frye. He is survived by: his children, Michael Arthur Carter (Brandy), Steven Phillip Carter, Marissa Jo Conroy (Devin), Kaleigh Jean McCowan and Savannah Cheyenne Carter; his grandchildren, Keagan Arthur Darling (Papoose), Nixon James Conroy (Nixie Dixie), Aella Kae Conroy, Nelle Millicent Conroy and Mariposa Rodriquez; and his siblings, Kay Carter Anderson (Eddie), Edie Maynard, Phillip Porter, Charles Porter, Leonard Porter and Michael Dale Porter.
