He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Prendergast and Virginia Gump Prendergast; his daughter Tammy Marie Church; and his niece Martha Cork. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Long Prendergast; his children, Howard David Long, Gerald Ralph Church, Jr. (Wendy) of Parkersburg, Lisa Anne Church of Core, Douglas Allen Church (Jamie) of Weston and Amanda Marie Hunn (Tim) of Rivesville; his brothers, Sherrell Prendergast (Darlene) of Hundred and Marcus Prendergast (Bev) of Hundred; his grandchildren, Stephanie Gribble, Brian Long, Lindsay Elder, Christopher Church, Jessica Jarvis, Kaylie Hegedis, Kennedy Church, Courtland Church and Canyon Church; and his nephew Garold Howard Church, Jr. (Lisa) of Belpre, Ohio.. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
