He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bradford and Mary Alice Barnes (Caskie); his brother William Bradford "Junior" Barnes; and his grandson Colby Lattea. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elizabeth "Beth" Barnes (Vowell); his children, Gary Strope (Debbie) of Horner, WV, Tammie Lattea (Darius) of Horner, WV, Luke Barnes (Karen) of Englewood, FL, Laura Kennedy (Robert) of Horner, WV, J'Amie Barnes of Flatwoods, WV and Marc Barnes (Laura) of Horner, WV; his grandchildren, Wayne Strope, Cameron Lattea, Claire Lattea, Matthew Cole, Stephanie Cole, Ally Cole, Catlyn Kennedy, Taylor Kennedy, Haley Kennedy, Madison Shearer, Brooke Barnes and Nathan Barnes; his great grandchildren, Laikyn Crites, Adisynne Cole, Matthew Cole and Oakley Cole; his sister Linda Shoemake (Randy) of Michigan; and his sister-in-law Diana Barnes of Horner, WV.
