She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph "Joe" and Hannah Jane Brown (Burgess); her daughters, Helen Viars and Jewell Vance; her great great grandchild Oliver Hensley; and her siblings, Juanita, Mable, Myrtle, Geneva, Alda Mae, Lawrence, Marion, Everette and Zachery Taylor Brown.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. John T. Vance of Holden; her children, Tennis R. Vance (Sue) of Lake and Betty June Meade of Richmond, VA; her grandchildren, John T. Viars (Wanda), Janey Flournoy (Steven) of Roanoke, VA, Daniel Vance (Dana) of Springfield, OH, Aimie Mosier (Brian) of Richmond, VA and Elisha Meade (LaShell) of Richmond, VA; and also Betty Jo. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.
