She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar McBride and Thelma Grimmett McBride; her husband Raymond Lead Whitten; and her siblings, Leslie, Roy, Ezra, Ernest, Rufus McBride, Irene Adkins and Mary Meadows.

She is survived by: her children, Lee Whitten of Hinton and Vickie Whitten of Hinton; and her brother Eldridge McBride (Linda) of Daniel Island, SC. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
