He was predeceased by: his parents, S. K. Kenton and Dora Irene Hodge Hartwell. He is survived by: his siblings, Jim, David, Tom, Dan, Bill, Hilda, Lois and Ruth; his granddaughter Nikki Lee Hartwell; his wife Bernice Hartwell; his sons, David Hartwell (Jackie Yancey) and Rodney Hartwell (Felisha); his granddaughter Emily "Weston" Hartwell; his siblings, Silas K. "Bud" Hartwell, Ralph Hartwell (Judy), Gary Hartwell (Judy), Ronnie Hartwell (Susan) and Betty Lamb (Donzie); and his niece Rhonda Taylor (Anthony). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws.
