She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Lowry. She is survived by: her sister Bonnie Lilly; her children, Howard Nelson Lowry (Cora) of Lake Tahoe, NV, Steven Lowry (Sharon Buckland) of Dry Pond, WV, Bernice Backus (Ben) of Elkins, WV and Joyce Hockenberry of Hinton, WV; and her grandchildren, Harold Meadows (Diane), Carolyn Light (Phillip), Rhonda Lowry, Mark Lowry (Cindy), Elana Backus (Ralph Hamrick, Jr.), Philip Backus and Cheryl Kula (Ted). She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren including and thirteen great, great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Little Wolf Creek Missionary Fund; 58 Huffman Cemetery Road, Hinton, WV 25951.

“In loving memory of Mary Christine Lowry, Christine Lowry (Aunt Chris) was my father's (Alvie Hodge) sister. There are not enough words to say that I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Growing up we visited every summer and loved trying to sneak up to her home on the mountain. Wonderful memories. I am so sorry we lost contact with family members and were not notified of her passing. Please know she was very much loved and will be missed. Sandra (Hodge) Strock”
