He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard R. Cox and Pansy L. Hammonds Cox; and his siblings, Bernard "Duke" Cox, Gary R. Cox, Roger D. Cox and Lola M. Cox.
He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth R. Cox of Cool Ridge, Alice Adkins of Hinton and Patricia Meador of Hinton; his nieces and nephews, Steven Cox, Jeffrey, Don (Bobby Meador), Randall (Shawn Adkins), Josh (Zac Cox), Kenny (Tyler Cox), Vicky Cox, Tasha Cox and Brandi Cox; and his great-nephew Isaiah Cox.
