He was predeceased by: his parents, Sadie Smith Thompson and Abner C. Thompson, Sr.; and his brother Billy Ray. He is survived by: his brother Abner Carl Thompson, Jr. of Hinton; his nephew Brian Chapman (Jennifer) of Roswell, GA; and his nieces, Erin Thompson Hurst (Isaac) of Lewisburg, WV and Emily Thompson (Lucas) of Fayetteville, WV. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, along with many cousins.
