He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Thompson and Margaret Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thompson; his children, Kevin Thompson (Jenna) and Robyn Terry (Dee); and his grandchildren, Kaleb, Mason, Judd, Jake and Savanna Terry.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated the Alzheimer's Association (ALZ.org), for memorial contributions.
