She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Young and Macie Bower Young; her husband Bobby Upton; and her siblings, Tommy Young and Loretta Gill.
She is survived by: her children, D. D. Gill of North Carolina, Janet Triplett of Ballard, Sunshine Hartley (Jason) of North Carolina and Nellie Humphreys of Fairmont; and her close friend Nancy Hopps. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
