He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Willovee Sears Cyrus; his son James Lee Cyrus; his brothers, James and Charles Pitzer Sr.; and his nephew Charles "Pee Wee" Pitzer Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Jackie Scott Adkins (Ariel Rose), Basil Edward "Squirt" Cyrus Jr. (Jessica Carr), Matthew Derek "Bubba" W. Cyrus (Lisa) and Stephanie Nicola "Pest" Marcum (Chris); his grandchildren, Jacobie, Sincere, Jaliyah, Joshua, Ember and James; his stepgrandchild Lilith; his sisters, Mary Ellen Vanwinkle (Jim) and Vivian Cyrus; his nephews, Tommy Pitzer and Tommy Upton; and also Diana Kay Adkins Cyrus. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
