He is survived by: his wife Emma Farmer Riggs; his children, David Riggs (Sarah) of Bluefield, Kirby Riggs (Ashley) of Princeton, Stephanie McGlothlin (Shawn) of Bluefield, WV and Kattie Hagerman (Johnathon) of Oakvale, WV; and his siblings, Ricky Riggs (Drema) of Princeton, WV, Cindy Reed (Benny) of Montcalm and Rebecca Riggs of Princeton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
