Shirley Akers Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Akers of Hiawatha, West Virginia, who passed away on October 26, 2021 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Sidney Hartwell and Virginia Ruth Weese Hartwell; her husband Andrew Akers; her daughter Sherry Akers; and her siblings, Robert Hartwell and Mary Gross.
She is survived by: her children, Tina Akers (Reggie) of Lake Bottom, Sandra Rye (Jake) of Hiawatha, Patrick Akers of Hiawatha and Kayla Akers (Eric) of Princeton; and her siblings, Helen Jones, Linda Pennington, Larry Hartwell, Janet Bowling and Wanda Hatfield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
