He is survived by: his children, Scottie Rye (Cindy) of Herndon, Calvin Rye of Hiawatha, Melvin Rye, Jr. (Sandra) of Hiawatha, Stephanie Mitchem (Richard) of Springton, Eric Rye (Kayla) of Princeton and Kristy Rye (Dennis) of Arista; his siblings, John Rye of Virginia, Pauline Rye of Virgina and Melinda Lytton of Virgina; and his daughter-in-law Rebecca Rye of Arista. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
