He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Dean and Lela Smith Dean; and his siblings, Austin Dean, Raymond, Richard, Junior Pugh and Bernadine Wooten.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara (Ronnie Pugh) of Bartow, WV, Libby (Russell Leichliter) of French Creek, WV and Arthur (Chanin Dean) of North Carolina. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
