He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Lester Mercer and Jessie Mercer (McCain); his stepmother Garnet Mercer; his grandparents, Leslie, Sadie McCain, Martin and Georgie Mercer; his granddaughter Babe Ellen Quigley Pelley; and his son-in-law David Lee Quigley, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Helen Justina Mercer (Wood) of Moundsville; his daughters, Leslie Quigley of Glen Dale, WV, Cindy LeBlanc of Fairhaven, Sherry Cicholski and Darla Howe of Moundsville; his grandchildren, Francis Cicholski (Kathleen) of Fredericksburg, VA, Amber Rauh (Dave) of Natick, April Soares (Matt) of Fairhaven and David Quigley (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas Cicholski, Colton, Callie Rauh, Gabriel, Emma, Ellana Soares and Triton Quigley of Benwood; and his stepsisters, Carol Caldwell (Charlie) and Sheila Powell (Bill) of Moundsville. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
