He was predeceased by: his parents, Otho Shank Horst and Anna Rebecca Hoover Horst; his wife Madalyn Elizabeth Miles Horst; his siblings, Martha Horst, Mary Kipe, Elmer, Daniel, James and Samuel Horst; and his grandchild Pamela Denise Horst.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Horst of Martinsburg, Ronald Horst (Marina) of Ames, IA, Rodney Horst (Joan) of Hanover, VA, Roger Horst (Susan) of Mercersburg, Randy Horst (Tonia) of Greene, IA, Robert Horst (Patricia) of Bristow, IA and Joann Huffman of Martinsburg; and his siblings, Melvin Horst of Chambersburg, PA, Otho Horst of Bealton, VA, Mark Horst of Mt. Joy, PA, Luke Horst of Hagerstown, MD, Amos Horst of Woodstock, VA, Ethel Horst of Hagerstown, MD. and Lois Eyster of Mt. Vernon, OH.. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
