He was predeceased by: his son Brian Steven Butts; and his siblings, David R. Butts, William D. Butts, Charles J. Butts, Dora Lee Grimes and Julia M. Lucas.
He is survived by: his spouse Patricia F. Hite Butts; and his children, Boyd Craig Butts (Diane) of Martinsburg, Beverly K. Butts-Fritts of Charlotte, NC, Brenda L. Fowler of Winchester, VA and Belynda S. Stateler (Ross) of Martinsburg. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
