He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Stonewall Hensley and Fannie Hensley; his siblings, Ed, Gilbert Hensley, Braskie McDonald and Sylvia Smith; and his parents-in-law, Roy and Carrie Dempsey.
He is survived by: his nephew Fred McDonald; his wife Shirley Dempsey Hensley; his children, Paula Hensley Thomas and Lester Hensley, Jr. (Crystal); his grandchildren, Caleb Hensley (Darla), Kristen Hicks (Ryan), Braxton Hensley and Zane Thomas; his great grandchild Lacy Hensley; and his siblings, Elmer, Lowell Hensley (Joanne), Louise Workman, Gloria Parks, Elsie Gavin and Relma Sue Maynard (Bill). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
