She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Stamper and Zada Morris; her husband Stanford V. Shelton; her son Tommy Stamper; her stepfather Dave Tackett; and her brothers, Herman Tackett (Wanda), Arnold Tackett (Diane), Vernon Bradley, James Tackett and Arson Tackett.
She is survived by: her daughter Beverly Adams (Quinton); her siblings, Patricia Mullins and Grayling Mullins (Margie); her grandchildren, Thomas Stamper (Kendra), Julia Black (James) and Autumn Stamper; and her close friend Gaye Adams. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
