It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvena Cathorena Church of Harts, West Virginia, born in Huntington, West Virginia, who passed away on March 7, 2023, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Odell Adkins and Lucinda Adkins (Rakes); her grandparents, Levi, Mary Rakes, Evermont and Stella Adkins; her parents-in-law, Thomas "Tom" Church and Sylvia "Sib" Vance; and her brother Eddie Adkins.
She is survived by: her husband Thomas Church of Harts, WV; her children, April Mahon of Harts, WV and Thomas; her sisters, Krista Lovejoy of Julian, WV, Shirley Church (Craig) of West Hamlin, WV and Margret Plumley (Bruce) of Sweetland; her sister-in-law Donna Adkins; her brothers, Phillip Adkins of Griffithsville and Bobby Adkins (Kathy) of Griffithsville; her grandchildren, Linda "Katie" Mahon of Chapmanville, WV, Ashleigh Mahon of Harts, Brooklyn Freeman of Harts and Devin Freeman of Harts; her great grandchild Gracey Bailey of Chapmanville, WV; and her close friends, Virgie and Redonda. She is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews.
