He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Clayton and Helen Marie Lemon Goodnight; and his siblings, Harry "Bud" Goodnight, Eugene Goodnight, Gary Joe Goodnight, Keith Goodnight, Carole Evans and Lana Sue Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jeanette Prather Goodnight; his children, Cynthia Elaine Dale (Hugh) and Kenneth Paul "Kenny" Goodnight II (Teresa) of Smithville; his granddaughter McKenzie Goodnight; his siblings, Lloyd "Buzz" Goodnight of Vero Beach, FL, Pamela Kay Holbert of Macfarlan and Marcia Jan Angely of Elizabeth; and his sister-in-law Nancy Goodnight.
