He was predeceased by: his parents, Dearl Armstead Grove and Jessie Hawk Grove; his children, Donald Grove, Donna Everhart, Antionnette Everhart and Lisa Bond; and his granddaughter Christy Grove-Thorpe.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Katherine Grove; his children, James Grove (Christine), Dwayne Grove, Mark Grove, Randall Grove, Trudy Kirk (Ernest), Karen Smoot (Wayne), April Maples and Robin Waters (Kenny); and his siblings, Paul Grove and Bernice Breeden. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
