He was predeceased by: his parents, Loss Godfrey and Leona Basham Godfrey; his siblings, Arlene Godfrey and Joseph Elliott Godfrey; and his niece Stacey Hartman.
He is survived by: his wife Connie G. Godfrey; his sons, David Godfrey II (Misty) of Hanover, James E. Godfrey (Rebecca) of Bradshaw, WV and Randy Godfrey (Tammy) of Bluewell, WV; his grandchildren, Blake, Ethan, Brianna, Jasmine, Elijah and Jaxton; and his siblings, James Marshall Godfrey of South Point, OH, Loss Godfrey Jr. of Hanover, WV, John Keith Godfrey of Hanover, WV, Patricia Bloggett (Mike) of Huntington, WV, Judy Mullins (Darrell) of Sevierville, TN and Sheila St. Clair (Gary) of Clear Fork, WV..
