He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Dow Swearingen and Emma Elizabeth Degler Swearingen; his wife Wanda Mae Johnson; his son James Harold; his sisters, Helen Swearingen (Bruce Dean Swearingen) and Mary Avelda Martin; and his grandson Nathan Adam "Nate" Swearingen.
He is survived by: his children, Jack Don Swearingen, Jr. (Vickie) of Inwood, WV, Debra Kay "Debbie" Suesli of Hambleton and Donna Marie Shehan (Kenneth) of Springfield, KY; his grandchildren, Dustin Suesli (April), Jesse Suesli, Shana Buckley (Joshua), Lance Swearingen (Monica), Kenneth Scott Shehan, Jr. and Elizabeth Young (Jared); and his great grandchildren, Jayden, Lynk and Layne Suesli. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
