He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Rice and Lennie Rice; his son Russell; and his siblings, Wilma, Donnie Lee and Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Rice; his children, Wanda Hanshaw (Clifford), William "Bill" Rice (Arzella), Brenda Sovine (Earl), Jeff Rice, Alice Rice (Manny Franco), Luther "Bub" Rice, Kyle Rice (Mischele), Eddie Rice (Beth) and Steve Rice (Laura); and his siblings, Wade, Dale, Johnnie and Lorena "Sis". He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandson.
