He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Vance and Sara Vance (Adkins); his former wife Charlotte Vance (Dean); his wife Mary Vance (Nida); his siblings, Bobby, Jackie Vance and Freda Brown; and his grandsons, Danny Lee Vance II and Teddy Joe Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Danny (Sherry Vance), Diana (Roy Vanderpool), Sandy (Brandt Morgan), Big Tommy Joe (Latira Vance) and Lil Tommy Joe Vance of Lake Wylie, SC; his brother James Vance of Poplar Bluff, MO; and his grandsons, Jamie "Buckshot" and Noah Vance. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
