He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sylvester Wilson Sr. and Violet Virginia Wheatley Wilson; his wife Barbara Mitchell Wilson; his children, Sheri Wilson and Craig Wilson (Patricia); his sister June Woolfenden; and his grandchildren, Rebecca (Eric), Hunter, Kacie (Brandon), Jarrod (Leigh), Elijah and Steven (Amber). He was also cherished by six great grandchildren.
