He was predeceased by: his parents, Callie Simers and Ida Curry Simers; his stepfather Blaine Calhoun; and his brother Charles Simers of Grantsville, WV.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Stull Simers; his brother Burl Simers (Jean) of Grantsville; his son Charlie Richards (Mandee); his grandchildren, Alexa Richards (Kelly White) of Big Springs, Brogan Richards of Big Springs, Kyler Propst (Heather Hughes) of Mt Zion and Mason Propst (Mikaela) of Elizabeth; and his great grandchildren, Chloe, Piper, Karson, Hadley, Kennedy and Lakyn. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members, friends.
