He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Rosalie Hays-Richards and Dennis Ray Richards Sr.; and his brothers, Ivan James Richards and Wesley Gay Richards. He is survived by: his children, Mellisa Marks (Timothy) of Maysel, Heather Boyd (Brent) of Parkersburg and Dennis Richards, III (Cheri) of Big Bend; his siblings, Ronald K. Richards, Tracy Buzzard and Terry Wheaton; his grandchildren, Chase, Felicity "Brooke", Braydon, Kole and Aiden Marks; his close friend Beretta Arthur; and his former wife Leona Stump.
